Workshops available
I run Earth Beats workshops and dances on request in the UK and abroad, at festivals, for peer groups and in the community. Earth Beats also offers a professional service to educational establishments for students, staff and teachers at universities, colleges and schools to improve their mental, emotional and physical and spiritual well-being, and I am open to requests from other organisations.
Dance Yourself healthy
In body and mind, heart and soul with Earth Beats - a free-style, aerobic and mindful dance class
A 2-hour Dance Workshop for university students
Earth Beats is a meditative and invigorating dance. It’s great for physical wellbeing, mental clarity, emotional expression, creativity and fun and for us to spend less time in our heads and more time in our bodies. It's sometimes called mindfulness in movement or conscious clubbing.
Earth Beats is great exercise and releases endorphins so it can be great fun. It is helpful for headaches and muscle tension induced by intensive studying and it can bring peacefulness after dancing vigorously. It is helpful for grounding, anxiety, stress, anger and mild depression. And is a place to be with the chaotic feelings that being a student can bring up. This dance can teach students the ability to be at ease with themselves, to gain some understanding of their emotions, and learn relating skills.
Calming Techniques For Anxiety, Stress And Trauma
A 4-hour workshop
I can give this workshop to a group or organisation arranged by you. Most people experience stress, anxiety, feelings of being overwhelmed and trauma at some point in their life. You do not need to be a counsellor or therapist to benefit from these workshops.
Calming Techniques for Anxiety, Stress and Trauma for Counsellors, Psychotherapists and other therapists – an experiential workshop (suitable for CPD) for those wanting to learn some body awareness techniques to use with clients.
This workshop teaches basic trauma theory, including the autonomic nervous system and exercises that calm the nervous system, including body awareness, grounding using the feet, muscle toning and dual awareness and more. It also includes some movement so wear comfortable clothing. The teaching is based on personal experience and training I received from Babette Rothcshild, renowned author of The Body Remembers, therapist and trainer.

Feedback
“I enjoyed this workshop and am looking forward to using techniques, strategies and exercises with myself, my clients and my own children and family. I found it helpful and enlightening. I will definitely buy Babette’s book [The Body Remembers] Thank you Clíona for this day.” JD – Checkpoint staff
“I found it interesting and informative. Dual awareness, flashback protocol and Resources were particularly useful. Anchor exercise was also useful. I enjoyed the role-play and the opportunity to experience the therapy. I felt the delivery was well-paced with appropriate consideration taken to people’s personal beliefs/reservations. Thanks Clíona” IB – Counsellor and Supervisor at Checkpoint
